In Kryvyi Rih, a woman used her deceased mother's pension card. For her fraudulent actions, she received a sentence in court. This is stated in the verdict of the Zhovtnevyi District Court of Kryvyi Rih, as reported by "Vidomo".
The resident of Kryvyi Rih was receiving a social pension on the card, which her daughter was aware of. When the pensioner passed away, the daughter failed to inform the relevant authorities to stop the pension payments to the card.
For an entire month following her mother’s death, the woman continued to use her mother's card and received the pension. She withdrew 3,370 hryvnias from an ATM.
Through her fraudulent actions, the woman caused financial damage to the State Budget of Ukraine amounting to 3,360.24 hryvnias.
In court, the woman admitted her guilt. She was found guilty of fraud (Part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The punishment was set at 200 hours of community service.
It is also noted that the woman did not notify the relevant authorities that her mother had died in June. Consequently, the social pension continued to be credited. The daughter withdrew funds that were credited after her mother’s death, specifically in July.
