"The United Kingdom is investing £25 million to strengthen the social protection system and services to support an inclusive and barrier-free recovery in Ukraine," the department noted, adding that these funds are intended to act as a catalyst for Ukraine's commitment to implementing social reforms.
SPIRIT aims to assist the Ukrainian government in executing the social reform program by uniting ministries and local authorities, international financial organizations, donors, civil society, academic circles, and the private sector.
It is also highlighted that this support will help "meet the needs of the population and accelerate Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic path." To implement SPIRIT, Britain will collaborate with UNICEF in Ukraine and the World Bank while engaging with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the European Union, and key partners in the social sector.
The program's priorities include improving the quality of social services for at least 10,000 families with children in 10 regions, establishing a Social Recovery Office within the Ministry of Social Policy to stimulate reforms, and launching a series of cross-sector initiatives aimed at supporting the most vulnerable groups of the population and those affected by the war – women, families with children, people with disabilities, the elderly, and veterans, the British government's press service noted.
