Russia demands elections with a single aim: to lift the state of emergency, demobilize the Ukrainian army, and open the borders. After that, Russians will launch a new offensive, justifying it with claims of Ukraine violating the ceasefire.
Without security guarantees, there is a risk of not surviving until the moment when one can finally cast a ballot in the voting box.
Therefore, our task is to secure real guarantees of safety for the country beforehand, not after. After all, this concerns the future not only of Ukraine but of all Europe.
