This was shared by the people's deputy, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Arseniy Pushkarenko.
“Sanctions always represent a long-term perspective. We are collaborating with partners to close off Russia's avenues for circumventing economic restrictions as much as possible. Currently, efforts are underway to announce the 16th sanctions package by the third anniversary of the large-scale invasion. This package will address the Russian banking system, aluminum—which the EU is still purchasing in large quantities—Russia's shadow fleet, and other issues, particularly elements used by Russia to manage the 'Shaheds', among other things,” the politician noted.
According to him, the expansion and strengthening of sanctions pressure is a crucial step toward achieving a just world.
The people's deputy also reminded that recently, the foreign ministers of EU member states supported a six-month extension of previously imposed economic restrictions against Russia. He emphasized that the main credit for this goes to the EU's chief diplomat, Kaia Kallas.
