During the meeting, effective countermeasures to challenges related to integrity violations in sports were discussed. The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Matviy Bedny, emphasized that the sports sector faces the task of improving legislative, institutional, and technical mechanisms that will aid in effectively combating these challenges, including the initiation of systematic cooperation to counter manipulation with sports federations.
Together with the Rugby Federation of Ukraine, the participants addressed not only the issues of actual manipulation but also the necessity for preventive actions.
Yevgeny Bazhenkov, President of the Rugby Federation of Ukraine, noted that there have been no instances of match-fixing or other manipulations in Ukrainian rugby so far and expressed hope that, through the joint efforts of the National Platform and the national federation, this trend will continue.
Previously, similar events were also held with the support of the Favbet Foundation, including meetings with the Hockey Federation of Ukraine, the Badminton Federation of Ukraine, the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine, and others.
“Collaborative activities with the National Platform of Virtue strengthen trust in sporting competitions among fans, as well as enhance communication in sports, which is very important among athletes,” stated the Favbet Foundation.
