According to her, she and Mr. Munir agreed on the importance of engaging youth in promoting the environmental agenda and establishing a youth council under the Ministry of Environmental Protection. It is precisely the youth who carry the most progressive views on the future. Furthermore, for the new realities of "green" recovery, we need a significant number of experts in environmental protection, which is why it is crucial to involve young people in obtaining environmental education through joint promotional campaigns.
“An important direction of our cooperation is the UN Climate Summit COP29 and the activities of our pavilions. We agreed to maximize the use of this platform to convey to the world the impact of war on the environment and the lives of future generations. During COP28, Ukraine joined the International Declaration on Children, Youth, and Climate Actions. We hope that COP29 will be a platform for the next steps for Ukraine in this direction,” – noted Svetlana Grinchuk.
The head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection thanked the UNICEF Representation in Ukraine for its tremendous contribution to the agenda in Ukraine and personally thanked Munir Mamedzade for his strong stance: “We are doing everything possible to pave the way for a better future for the youth.”
