According to data from the EastFruit project and the Minfin portal, prices for these products have surged sharply due to limited supply and increased demand.
Carrots
Recently, carrot prices have risen again, with farmers now offering them at 25–33 UAH per kilogram, which is a 10% increase in just one week. This rise is attributed to the reduction in supply from local farms, as many have already sold their stock, and major producers are only fulfilling existing contracts.

Even the presence of imported carrots has not managed to stabilize the market. Analysts emphasize that the current price of carrots is 2.4 times higher than during the same period in 2024.
Cabbage
Prices for white cabbage have also skyrocketed. The average cost has increased from 39.20 UAH to 48.35 UAH per kilogram, which is approximately three times higher than the 15 UAH per kilogram recorded in January 2024.

Bell Peppers
Bell pepper prices have not escaped the upward trend. The average price has risen from 202.20 UAH to 249.23 UAH per kilogram compared to 170.25 UAH during the same period last year.
It is worth noting that in Megamarket, bell peppers are sold for 307.80 UAH per kilogram, which is quite astonishing.

The increase in the cost of these staple vegetables places an additional financial burden on Ukrainian households, especially during the winter months. The market is struggling to meet demand, and further price volatility may occur as supplies continue to dwindle.
