A series of fake statements are circulating online, leading many to wonder whether pensions will be cut by 25% or if increases will only occur after a written request from pensioners. These false claims are causing unnecessary concern.

Pension expert and journalist Korobkin addressed these issues by providing clarifications. As fraudulent activities continue, fake news regarding pension changes is spreading rapidly.

After the rumors about pension increases in mid-January were debunked, new misleading messages began to circulate, suggesting that pensions would be reduced by 7–25% depending on age starting from January 18.

Fraudulent messages urge individuals to "select their age category" or "check their changes" by clicking on a link. Users are then either redirected to an external Telegram channel where they are asked to subscribe without receiving any useful information, or, in the worst-case scenario, they fall victim to a scam that compromises their personal details or bank account information.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy emphasized that decisions regarding pension indexation for 2025 will be made through a separate Cabinet of Ministers resolution, and no official dates for such changes have been established.

Furthermore, the Pension Fund clarified that any pension recalculations are carried out automatically. Pensioners do not need to submit any applications or click on suspicious links.

It is crucial for pensioners to recognize fake news and protect themselves. All updates regarding pension calculations are published through official sources, such as the Pension Fund's website and verified social media pages.

Indeed, elderly Ukrainians should exercise caution when clicking on unknown links, even if they appear enticing, as they may be part of fraudulent schemes.
