All you need to do is properly prepare the bed, and success is guaranteed! We will share simple yet effective tips that will help you achieve excellent results.

Choosing the Right Location for Cucumbers
Cucumbers thrive best in areas where early cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, onions, peas, potatoes, or herbs have previously grown. These crops enrich the soil, making it ideal for cucumbers. However, cucumbers will not perform as well following late root vegetables or white cabbage. It is advisable to avoid planting cucumbers after squash crops; allow the soil to rest for a couple of years.
Site Preparation: Autumn is the Time for Work
To ensure healthy cucumber growth, it is best to start soil preparation in the autumn. Begin with cleanup—gather all plant debris and burn it to prevent the spread of diseases and pests. The next step is to apply organic fertilizers. For soil of average fertility, about 40–60 tons per hectare is sufficient. Then, gently turn the soil to a depth of 20 cm to enrich it with organic matter.

Spring: Time for Final Preparation
When spring arrives, it will be time to prepare the area for planting cucumbers. First, level the soil surface and remove any weeds to prevent them from competing with your plants for light and water. After that, add mineral fertilizers—phosphorus, potassium, or nitrogen. About 30 grams of fertilizer per square meter is adequate. Then, turn the soil again to ensure the fertilizers are evenly distributed, providing the necessary nutrients for vigorous cucumber growth.
