"This decision will allow Ukraine to strengthen its technological advantage on the battlefield and more effectively eliminate the enemy," noted Umerov.
He shared that on October 31 in Riga, the first meeting of the coalition's leadership group took place, resulting in Latvia announcing its allocation of €20 million for the coalition. Specifically, at least €10 million will be directed towards purchases from the domestic industry, and €5 million will be allocated for joint purchases within the coalition.
Additionally, Umerov mentioned the signing of an agreement with Latvian partners to train Ukrainian military personnel in drone piloting programs.
"Drones are the weapon of the future, which is already helping Ukraine to defend and save the lives of our defenders. Thank you to our partners for their contribution to Ukraine's victory!" – he wrote.
The "drone coalition" is led by Latvia and the United Kingdom. The British Ministry of Defence announced on November 19 the allocation of $9.5 million (almost €9 million) for drones for Ukraine as part of the initiative.
