In contrast, the Novus chain offers cherry tomatoes at a significantly lower price — 199 hryvnias per kilogram, making them a more affordable option.
Other types of tomatoes remain relatively cheaper. The lowest price for "plum" tomatoes is recorded at Auchan — 137.50 UAH/kg, while Megamarket offers them at 170.10 hryvnias per kilogram.
Additionally, the average price for red tomatoes is 126.68 UAH per kilogram, while pink tomatoes are around 139.90 hryvnias per kilogram.
Market analysts note that greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are currently 36% more expensive than at the same time in 2024. However, many believe that this surge is temporary and expect a gradual decrease in prices as imports from Turkey stabilize.

It's important to highlight that the sharp increase in tomato prices is part of a broader trend affecting various vegetables. After a brief period of stability, potato prices in Ukraine have started to rise again. In Varus supermarkets, the price of the root vegetable now ranges from 24.90 to 82 hryvnias per kilogram.
Meanwhile, white cabbage has also become more expensive, now selling for 34-40 UAH/kg.
One of the most concerning trends is the record price of garlic, which experts say will not decrease in the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, high import costs driven by strong demand in Europe, combined with a reduction in domestic garlic cultivation, have pushed prices to unprecedented levels.
