According to him, the government has taken initial steps to implement a comprehensive "Winter Support" package for Ukrainian families. The child component of the package includes several items, the first of which is the "Warm Winter" program, the Prime Minister noted. Under this program, families will receive a one-time cash assistance of 6,500 UAH for their children to get through the winter period.
"This funding is intended for purchasing warm clothing, footwear, and other necessities for children during the winter. Today, we are adopting the relevant resolution to kick off this program," Shmyhal announced.
Furthermore, he mentioned that on St. Nicholas Day, orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are raised in foster families or guardianships, will receive an additional one-time payment of 1,000 UAH. The financial resources for this program are provided by UNICEF.
