This requirement arises from a law that took effect on May 4, 2024, which effectively abolished the status of "limited fitness." Military conscripts previously classified under this category must undergo a military medical commission again to obtain an updated status.

The deadline for undergoing the re-examination by the military medical commission is February 5, 2025. Failure to meet this requirement may result in administrative penalties, including fines ranging from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias.

This requirement applies to all individuals previously classified as "limited fitness," regardless of the timing of their prior medical examinations.

After passing the military medical commission, conscripts will be assigned one of the following updated statuses:

Fit for military service.

Fit for service in support military units, TCCs and SPs, or higher military educational institutions and organizations.

Temporarily unfit, requires treatment, leave, or discharge.

Unfit for military service, subject to review in 6–12 months.

Unfit for military service, except for military registration.

This adjustment aims to ensure that all conscripts comply with the current standards of readiness for military service.
