Stole a mobile phone and pawned it: Police in Dnipro have charged a 36-year-old woman (PHOTO).

A young woman has been detained in Dnipro on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone from her partner; the crime occurred in the Industrial district of the city. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Dnipropetrovsk region police.

While living under the same roof as the victim, the thief took advantage of the man's slumber and committed the theft. The perpetrator made no attempt to conceal the traces of her crime.

Instead of trying to sell the phone to a private individual, which would have required more time and effort, she went to the nearest pawn shop, where she sold the stolen item. The money obtained was used by the suspect for her personal needs.

Dnipro operatives conducted a thorough investigation, collecting all necessary evidence pointing to the involvement of the 36-year-old woman in the theft. They informed her of the suspicion of committing a crime under part 4 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This article prescribes a rather severe penalty—up to eight years of imprisonment.
