"The state monopoly "Ukrzaliznytsia" has concluded the first three quarters of 2024 with a net profit of 1.66 billion UAH. The revenue of UZ from January to September increased to 78 billion UAH, which is 17% more than in the same period last year," the agency reports.
Data on UZ's financial results was recently published by Forbes Ukraine.
Last year, "Ukrzaliznytsia" ended with a net profit of 5.2 billion UAH.
In the first half of 2024, "Ukrzaliznytsia" earned a profit of 3.1 billion UAH. However, the then-head of the company, Yevhen Lyashenko, predicted that the year would end with losses and initiated a review of tariffs for freight transportation.
"However, his forecast did not come true: this allows UZ to maintain the freight transportation tariffs and stimulate economic development," writes "RBK-Ukraine".
