In the ravines of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a unique relict plant is thriving, with remnants of it documented by archaeologists in Holocene layers dating back 8-11 thousand years. A photo of this rare plant was shared on Facebook by botanist Svitlana Kiyak, as reported by "Vidomo".

"Krascheninnikovia ceratoides (L.) Gueldenst. Gray milkvetch (Krascheninnikov's teresken, Teresken with tuft).

According to literary sources, this species is part of the taxonomic composition of the fossil palynoflora in the northern part of Podillia and other regions of Ukraine during the Holocene," the scientist explained.

The woman also noted that with the collapse of the periglacial complex, suitable habitats for the species diminished or completely disappeared from the natural vegetation in the Forest-Steppe zone during the first half of the early Holocene.

This relict can be found in the ravines of the Upper Dnipro territorial community.
