In Dnipro, the operation hours of kindergartens have been extended.

Kindergartens in Dnipro have changed their operating hours. They are now open for extended hours, a request parents have long made. This is reported by "Vydomo" citing "Our City".

It was previously announced that the operating hours of kindergartens in communal ownership would increase from 4 to 7 hours. Now, 116 kindergartens and 13 gymnasiums with preschool divisions operate until 3:00 PM.

"By the end of the year, we plan to add another 28 to this number. There are a total of 177 kindergartens in the city. Two of them are undergoing major repairs. Some kindergartens continue to operate remotely because there is no place for them to join. At the same time, there are 82 basic kindergartens with quality shelters. A few other institutions without shelters have joined them," commented Elena Yakovenko, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Dnipro City Council's Humanitarian Policy Department.

Today, all institutions where children stay for 7 hours provide meals once a day through a catering system. 59% of the meal costs in kindergartens are covered by the city budget, while 41% are paid by parents.

It was previously reported that in Dnipro, the possibility of extending the working day in kindergartens to 7 hours is being considered.
