Dnipro is the first city in Ukraine to launch the "VPL Service Card." This platform allows internally displaced persons (IDPs) to receive discounts on goods and services. This information was reported by "Vydomo" citing the Dnipro City Council.
To take advantage of it, users need to complete a simple registration through a Telegram bot. This involves uploading an IDP certificate and verifying a phone number.
Currently, 28 entrepreneurs from various sectors are offering discounts to individuals who have been forced to relocate to Dnipro. Each business owner determines the discount amount they can provide individually.
"This project supports both internally displaced persons and businesses. The former receive discounts, while entrepreneurs – during surveys, we found that due to the high cost of housing rent in Dnipro, IDPs are forced to cut back on services," noted Dmitry Zabavin, coordinator of the "VPL Service Card" project.
Currently, 28 entrepreneurs from different industries are providing discounts to people who have been forced to move to Dnipro. Each business owner individually determines the discount they can offer.
As of now, over 175,000 IDPs are officially registered in Dnipro, while more than 200,000 actually reside in the city.
