The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Territorial Election Commission has decided to terminate the powers of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council deputy from the OPZZh party, Volodymyr Khorishko, as reported by "Vydomo," referencing the commission's ruling.

The reason for this decision was the receipt of a verdict from the Synelnykove District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast dated June 24, 2024, regarding a fatal traffic accident.

Khorishko was convicted of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court's ruling states that on November 6, 2023, the accused, while driving a Chevrolet Lacetti, ran over a person lying on the roadway of Sadova Street in Synelnykove near the intersection with Barabolkina Street. It is noted that after the incident, he left the scene of the accident. The victim succumbed to his injuries.

However, Khorishko entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison but was released from serving the imposed sentence with a probation period of 1 year.

Khorishko had been a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council since 2015, initially elected from the "Batkivshchyna" party. His father served as the chairman of the Zaytsevo village council.

Volodymyr Khorishko Jr. is also known for being listed in the Myrotvorets database and the Register of Traitors due to an incident in January 2022, when he posted an avatar featuring the Russian flag on his social media pages.

The information about Khorishko's removal from his deputy powers was also confirmed by the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk.

"Currently, there are 114 deputies remaining in the regional council. At the same time, the council continues to operate normally: sessions are held, and a majority of 61 votes out of 120 is sufficient for decision-making. All processes are functioning unchanged," he stated.
