The Finnish government has approved the transfer of the 27th military aid package to Ukraine, valued at €198 million. This was reported by the country's Ministry of Defense on January 31.
Финляндия одобрила новый пакет помощи Украине на сумму почти €200 млн.

As noted in the statement, the decision regarding the new aid package was made by Finnish President Alexander Stubb based on a proposal from the government.

For security reasons, no additional details about the exact contents, method, and timing of the assistance are being disclosed.

"This package, valued at nearly €200 million, has been developed in close cooperation with the Ukrainians. We are providing precisely the support that will help Ukraine defend itself in the critical situation at the front. We cannot loosen our grip; on the contrary, support needs to be strengthened even more at this moment. This week, I discussed this with my Northern European colleagues, and everyone is aligned on this matter. Military assistance upholds the right of independent nations to exist and protects human lives in Ukraine," stated Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.

In providing aid, both the needs of Ukraine and the resource situation of Finland's defense forces were taken into account, the Ministry of Defense noted.

"It is up to us, Europeans, to determine how security will evolve in Europe. Ensuring the independence and defense capabilities of Ukraine is currently a crucial element in this process," explained the Finnish minister.

The total value of defense equipment provided by Finland to Ukraine now amounts to €2.5 billion, the press service reported.
