In Kryvyi Rih, despite protests from the victims' families, deputies voted during the session to allocate funds for gravestones.

Members of the Kryvyi Rih City Council voted during the recent session to allocate 50,000 UAH to the families of fallen soldiers for the independent installation of headstones in the area designated for honorable burials at the local cemetery, as reported by "Vydomo".

Prior to this, relatives of the deceased warriors had repeatedly participated in protests, demanding that city authorities handle the matter centrally and within a unified project for the construction of a memorial that would satisfy the families. Before the session, the MP urged Yuriy Vilkul to announce an open competition for the design of the memorial project. However, the deputies did not heed the families' requests. A total of 41 deputies voted in favor of the decision, 2 abstained, and 2 did not vote.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chair of the Defense Council of Kryvyi Rih, Viktoriya Tretyak, explained the reasons behind this decision.

""A memorial will be built! Today we took another step towards this! However, since the legal user of each grave is solely the family of the fallen Hero, and they alone decide what can be placed on the grave, it is impossible to conduct a collective construction of tombstone structures, as 82 families have blocked this in writing. The only feasible option is to provide financial assistance," - she noted.
