A new city council secretary has been elected in Nikopol.

During an extraordinary session of the city council in Nikopol, deputies elected a new secretary – Sergey Zavgorodniy, a representative of the "For the Future" party, as reported by "Vidomo".

Previously, the deputies voted to terminate the powers of Ivan Bazilyuk as the secretary of the city council. Bazilyuk submitted his resignation voluntarily.

It’s worth noting that the city’s mayor, Alexander Sayuk, was also elected to his position from the "For the Future" party. In the local elections of 2020, this party, like "Servant of the People," received 21.05% of the votes. Both parties have 8 deputies each.

Zavgorodniy previously worked as the head of the repair and mechanical workshop at the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and chaired the permanent commission on urban planning and land use in the city council.
