On the morning of January 30, a solitary swan was spotted on the Dnieper River, which was shrouded in fog, as reported by "Vідомо" citing "Trukha Dnipro".

The white bird was gliding on the water, enjoying the beauty of nature.

Swan species are regarded as majestic birds of royal beauty and captivating divine grace.

There are only seven species of swans in the world: the mute swan, the black-necked swan, the whooper swan, the trumpeter swan, the coscoroba swan, the pygmy swan, and the American swan.

Swans are known for their fidelity and monogamy. They typically choose a partner for life. However, if their partner dies, they usually find a new one quite quickly, often by the next breeding season.

It's worth noting that swans survive the winter thanks to their dense plumage, which consists of nearly 25,000 feathers. The soft down beneath their outer feathers provides excellent thermal insulation.

Additionally, swans can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, enabling them to easily undertake flights of a thousand kilometers or more. Thanks to their thick and warm plumage, swans can fly at record altitudes for birds.

The birds feed on grains, oats, corn, grated vegetables, and soaked hay. Wheat, overnight soaked oats, chopped vegetables, and even grated carrots are highly beneficial for swans.

However, it is crucial not to feed swans bread, as it contains yeast, which can make the birds ill.
