This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, during the broadcast of the "TSN Week" program in a telethon.

According to Syrsky, there is currently only a limited number of air defense systems capable of effectively countering the "Oreshnik." However, Ukraine does not yet have access to such technologies.

"This motivates us to develop our own air defense system, which will also include missile defense capabilities. In addition, we are actively negotiating with our allies to obtain modern defense systems," the Commander-in-Chief noted.

Syrsky emphasized that the process of creating national missile defense systems has already begun and is progressing at an active pace. He also expressed hope for a swift achievement of results that will strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

The Russian missile "Oreshnik" was first used against Ukraine on November 21, 2024, during a morning strike on Dnipro. This incident served as a significant signal for Ukraine regarding the need to enhance air and missile defense systems.
