This time, the criticism is directed at the new rules regarding cultural figures leaving the country.
Starting March 3, changes to the Cabinet's resolution will take effect: now, men of conscription age working in the cultural and media sectors will not be allowed to leave Ukraine temporarily. This decision was made due to numerous instances where artists left the country under the pretext of tours but never returned.
Potap's Angry Statement
Potap, who is currently abroad, reacted to the new regulations on his Instagram. The artist expressed outrage that Ukrainian musicians would no longer be allowed to perform on international stages, where they raised funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and brought global attention to the war.
"Ukrainian artists support the state, the president, and raise hundreds of millions of hryvnias for the military, yet the Ministry of Culture undermines all of this! " – wrote the producer.
However, in his statement, he did not mention those who took advantage of tour permits to avoid mobilization and remain in Europe or the USA.
Interestingly, Potap himself gave an interview to Russian journalist Yuri Dud in 2024, and his prolonged absence from Ukraine has raised many questions among fans. He voiced his support for his colleagues who stayed in the country and expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the Ministry of Culture.
This statement has already sparked a heated reaction on social media: some support the artist, while others remind him that true assistance to the country is measured not only by charitable concerts but also by personal example.
