This year, there were only a few well-known Ukrainian performers among the selection participants. However, Ruslana believes that talent, not popularity, plays a crucial role in success.
In an interview with "Lux FM", the singer emphasized that Ukrainians should seek inspiration in new ideas and approaches.
"I don't believe in stereotypes, only in talent. If someone was unknown yesterday, they could very well become number one tomorrow. I would like us to renew ourselves. We lack this. We often cling to old pleasures and experiences that have already happened. We need to be inspired by something new,” Ruslana stated.
She also recalled how significant the Eurovision 2004 contest was for her career. According to her, this experience became a true “flash” that allowed her to express herself through sincerity and melodies that come from the heart.
"We didn’t expect such a resonance. We were happy that it drew attention to Ukraine. We tried to make the word 'Ukraine' sound louder. This was perhaps the first bright flash in Europe when people began to wonder where Ukraine was and why it was so vibrant and exciting. We didn’t feel depression or fatigue,” Ruslana shared.
After winning with the song "Dikі tantsi," her life became a whirlwind of significant events: press conferences, world tours, performances on Maidan. The singer admitted that she and her team sometimes went without sleep for several days, but they were all filled with energy and inspiration.
Thus, Ruslana encourages young artists not to be afraid to follow their own path, to be inspired by new ideas, and to believe in their talent, which has the power to change everything.
