The trick to achieving such abundant harvests is surprisingly simple. Experienced gardeners may already be aware of this technique, but newcomers can learn something valuable: cucumbers thrive when fed with yeast-based fertilizer.

The reason is that yeast provides cucumbers with essential nutrients that stimulate growth, strengthen the plants, and enhance yield.

To achieve the best results, this natural fertilizer should be applied three times during the growing season:

First Feeding:

Apply the yeast fertilizer five days after transplanting the seedlings into the soil. If you are planting cucumbers directly into the ground, wait until the sixth leaf appears. This initial feeding helps the plants strengthen their roots, adapt to the new environment, and promotes vigorous stem growth.

Second Feeding:

This should be done when the first flowers appear on the plants. Yeast stimulates the formation of additional flowers, making the plant more productive and resilient to diseases and environmental stress.

Third Feeding:

Apply the fertilizer for the third time during the fruit-setting stage. This will increase the number of set fruits, enhance their quality, and improve the flavor of the cucumbers.

Making yeast fertilizer is easy and requires common ingredients:

Option 1 (fresh yeast):

Dissolve 100 g of fresh yeast in 1 liter of warm milk.

Let it ferment for 2–4 hours.

Dilute the mixture with warm water at a ratio of 1:10.

Spray the plants in the morning or evening using a fine mist nozzle.

Option 2 (dry yeast):

Mix 10 g of dry yeast with 10 liters of warm water.

Add 2 tablespoons of heaped sugar.

Let the solution ferment for 4 hours.

Dilute it with warm water at a ratio of 1:5.

Water the cucumber beds immediately after preparation. Use 200 ml for a small seedling and 1 liter for an adult plant.
