A special event for foster families, family-type children's homes (DBST), and guardianship families took place in Dnipro, as reported by "Vidomo".

As part of the program, entertainment for children was organized at the cinema, along with informal communication between families, and a screening of the film "Paddington's Adventures in Peru."

The event was organized by the Coordination Center for the Development of Family Care and Child Care, the Department for Children of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration, and UNICEF. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the issue of children being raised outside of family settings, as well as to support and provide families caring for such children with opportunities to connect and overcome challenges together.

Paddington is a unique character whose own story is a vivid example of how family can change a life. Once alone and lost at a train station in London, he found comfort, love, and support in the Brown family.

"The story of Paddington is about how family transforms a person, how love and care can heal. This event highlights the importance of family warmth for every child. I hope there will be fewer children growing up without families," said the Deputy Chair of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Nadezhda Zadorozhnaya.

"Paddington is a symbol of kindness and family environment. UNICEF actively works in the Dnipropetrovsk region, implementing programs that support families and help children. Our goal is to create conditions so that all children can participate in such events with their parents," added Vitaliy Okhmat, a child protection program specialist from UNICEF.

Special attention at the event was given to promoting family-based care. "All children, like Paddington, deserve a family. We must develop and support single-parent families, inform about fostering opportunities, and advise on how to help children find their home," noted Yana Polishko, the regional coordinator of the Center for the Development of Family Care and Child Care.
