In one of the forests near Dnipro, a monument from the Eneolithic era has been accidentally discovered. This refers to a stele from the Eneolithic period, estimated to be around five thousand years old. This was reported by "Vідомо" citing "Суспільне".
According to Yaroslav Hural, an employee of the Dnipropetrovsk Museum named after Yavornytsky, the monument somewhat resembles a phallic symbol.
"In shape, it generally resembles a human, but there are also phallic forms; everyone sees it according to their own perspective," he stated.
The stone stele was discovered by archaeologist and historian Dmitry Filimonov. He mentioned that he noticed it by chance while walking through the forest. Initially, he did not grasp the significance of the find.
"It was underground, with just a small edge visible. That was enough to understand that it was an ancient object. Local residents had grilled shashliks on it," the archaeologist shared.

As explained by acting director Alexander Starik, the found stele dates back to the third millennium BC – it is approximately five thousand years old. The landmark was excavated, but due to its weight, it could not be loaded and transported.
Historians note that five-thousand-year-old steles are a rarity for Dnipro. This one was uncovered in the territory of the Igren Peninsula, where there are settlements and burial sites from the Eneolithic period. Such structures held cult significance for the ancestors.
"They vary in shape but have anthropomorphic features. They were associated with special traditions of spiritual life, primarily participating directly in burial rituals," Starik explained.
The artifact is to be transported for safekeeping, which will require a lift. Following this, the stele will be thoroughly studied: plans are in place to determine why it has a phallic shape.
