In Dnipropetrovsk region, during the week from January 17 to January 23, there were 9,900 new cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) reported. Almost 49% of the affected individuals are children under 17 years old. This was reported by "Vidomo" citing the Dnipropetrovsk Center for Disease Control.
The laboratory center noted that the incidence rate of influenza and ARVI is 23.6% higher than the rate from the previous week.
Hospitals admitted 410 patients, including 208 children. Additionally, since the beginning of the epidemic season, 10,764 people have been vaccinated against influenza.
Moreover, over the past week, the region recorded 112 cases of acute intestinal infections (AII). The intensity of the disease does not exceed the average long-term level. The proportion of children under 17 years old accounts for 57.1%.
